Scrapbook Night

When I lived in Salt Lake I belonged to a card club. The club met 4 times a year. 25 women would come with 25 homemade cards and we would exchange cards. We had dinner, themes, and became better friends as the years passed. I now also have boxes of homemade greeting cards, thus never having to buy a cheesy store card again. The perks of the club were endless. And my favorite part was spending the time making my cards, knowing that people were going to pass them along to their friends. I spent lots of time looking in magazines and browsing through craft stores for the right elements to my cards. This is one of the things I miss about Salt Lake.

So when my friend Corissa suggested that we start a weekly scrapbook night, I was enthusiastic. One I got to spend time with girl friends, which is a key to staying sane in this world. Two, I get to get out the house midweek. And third, I get to spend time on my favorite hobby.

So on Tuesday, four of us met to start our weekly scrapbook night. I started my wedding album, since I didn't purchase one from our photographer. They were a couple grand, and I figured I could personalize our own plus save some money by opting out of purchasing one. I only got the cover page done. KC always laughs that it takes me hours to create one page. I got my dad's mathematical/scientific brain and thus creativity doesn't come easily to me. So it usually takes me a couple hours to just decide on what I am going to do. But after 2 hours, I produced this:

Cute scrapbook page. You know how i feel about the scrapbook scene, but I know enough to know that this was page took a lot of work and you did a great job.

  5. Gen, I had no idea that you were so dang good at scrapbooking! That honestly takes a lot of talent and I have none of that. Touche! Thanks for blogging, I love keeping up on your life, seeing how far away you live. Miss you! Keep up the good work! By the way, this is your cousin Sharmaine.

I'm so glad you've found some fun friends to hang out with. Your scrapbook club sounds fun-even though I loathe scrapbooking! :)
