First Day of School

This morning I had a moment that I only imagine is like when a mom's first child gets on the bus to go to kindergarten for the first time. Except, I was a wife watching her husband set off for his first day of law school. I kissed KC on the cheek and sent him packing out the door. I had all the faith in the world that he would do amazing, that he would make friends, and that he wouldn't get lost. But at the same time I was missing him being at home and wishing that kids just didn't need to grow up so fast. It is amazing what law school and being married has done to us. We have both grown into little adults. KC is going to do just great. Way to go, babe, on your first day of school. I love you so much.

  4. Oh little KC, off to school. I hope he got a new Homer Simpson notebook and pencil pack. Those are important items to start the school year off right. Tell him to be nice to his teachers and to be friendly to play well with others!!

I can totally relate to the "when did we become
adults?" feeling. I have it quite frequently. It'll come when you buy a house, or have a kid, or go on vacation by yourself, or pay bills, or fix your sprinklers, or just about any time you do something your Mom should be doing for you. Pretty much, if becoming an "adult" had some sort of requirements...none of us would ever pass. And so, life just happens, and most of us feel inadequate 90% of the time.
