She's got a new attitude

We pulled out of our apartment yesterday and saw a man peeing on the building next to ours. And a woman, who we can only guess was his wife, was watching from directly across the street. Ya, you guessed it, we are back in Springfield. Home sweet home, right?

But for real, I am actually enjoying things more this time around. We ended up extending our stay in Utah and spent a total of almost three weeks there. And after seeing everyone again, I was completely scared that I could go into a deep depression once we left. So to overcome that, I promised my mom that I would embrace Massachusetts and recognize it as an opportunity most people don't get. And thus far I have to say that I have done pretty well. We immediately made plans with friends for this weekend. I started on some projects that I have wanted to do. And KC got to play video games during his time off this week. I think both of us are actually enjoying being in our own apartment even more that ever. And I have definitely gotten much better sleep. I'm not saying that I won't be visiting Utah again, I just think that I could actually like this place if I give it a chance. I'll keep you posted.

  1. Yay! I'm glad to hear that you are getting over your bout of homesickness. Before you know it, wherever you are will be "home," as long as you are with KC. At least thats how it is for me and Will. I feel happy wherever I am, as long as he is with me.

And just as an FYI, we may be moving further up the coast towards you next year to Virginia. We will have to work something out so we can see each other.

  2. I LOVE your new background-I am obsessed with stars so of course I love it! I love how happy and positive you are being. Life has been up and down for me the last few weeks so it's good to read your inspiring post about making the best out of our lives. Good for you!!! On a sad note, I am missing you greatly. I hope to see you both soon. Thanks for hanging out with us and keeping us young again! :)

  3. It's good to be positive. It's not as much fun for complaining purposes! But it's probably better for you! I do agree that if you can make that your home...you'll love it. I remember the first time I went "home" and thought..."I wanna go "home". It was a weird feeling...but a good one!

(PS...that was only a couple years ago...so if it doesn't happen right away, don't get too discouraged!)

    Hey,
When Josh was about 5 we parked in a 7-ll but decided to walk around it and go to the store behind, just as we were rounding the corner of the 7-ll we came upon, yep you quessed it, a man peeing on the wall. Josh wanted to know why the man could go to the bathroom outside and I wouldn't let him. Needless to say men pee in all towns and cities, even 33rd So. in good ole Salt Lake City.

  5. Thats awesome Gen! I didn't realize you were blogging again, I am so used to seeing that huge "9" from Christmas.

Well I REALLY hope you guys like Mass. this time around...

And I just thought of this clever saying, "Let's get some Mass!"
