We celebrated Valentine's Day tonight. For the past few years we decided to stay in and make dinner. This year was the year to venture back out, or so we thought. We drove down to Hartford to eat at the Cheesecake Factory. My mouth was salivating the entire 30 minute drive, the thought of dulche de leche cheesecake sitting on my tongue...yum! It was either that or the carrot cake cheesecake. Such a hard decision. We got to the restaurant by 5pm. Still this early in the evening, it was a 2 1/2 hour wait. They had even run out of the coaster beepers. Bummer! Neither KC nor I had eaten lunch and so we were starving, we decided to bag it. Shows how romantic we are! Now the search was on for the closest place with food...I didn't care what it was. So we went into an italian restaurant next door, the wait was four hours! All in all, we went into a few places and ended up eating at Moe's. It was basically an organic cafe rio. Pretty good, but not so romanic when you have quacamole drip on your chin :)I am glad we took the drive though, those car rides with KC are my favorite. It is when we have the most deep to the most silly conversations. Those are the times when I learn the most about him. He is so sweet!
We exchanged small gifts and ate ice cream at home. And without cheesecake, it was still a successful valentines...maybe not as tasty, but definitely a reminder of how much we are in love!

*Big Lips was our fictional Valentine's Day character. She (in my mind, we never actually new the gender) would visit our house on the eve of Valentine's Day and leave a bag of candy and a note on the end of our bed. It is a tradition I loved and still love. Some years we would even get a sticker stuck to our forehead, then you would walk around with a red heart mark on your face all day. Good times!

Oh my....I totally forgot about how Big Lips used to leave a sticker on our forehead. It seems like you always remember the best memories:)

On Sunday, I delivered to the original big lips, a huge set of chocolate big lips, signed by all of the kids, thanking her for the memory. One of my favorite things about Big Lips is seeing 18-year-old Daniel come upstairs asking if Big Lips came this year! You should be around the house now...Big Lips gives money! Remember when I'd pay on teeth, as a loan from the tooth fairy, cause the tooth fairy would forget to pay?
